Workshop: Docker Engine, Compose, and Swarm

October 14, 2017, 1:00pm - October 14, 2017, 4:00pm

General Informatio:
Howdy! Welcome to October's Hackschool. In this Hackschool we're sneak peeking into Docker Engine, Compose and Swarm. You don't know that buzzword? Perfect! Let's come over and listen to Florian Barth & Andreas Wenger, Stocard GmbH, what the future holds.

As usual, we'll provide drinks, snacks and pizza. :-)

Workshop: Docker Engine, Compose, and Swarm
Language: English if English if asked otherwise in German
Speaker: Florian Barth & Andreas Wenger, Stocard GmbH
We will enter the seas of containerization by introducing the basics of Docker Engine and will then take you on a scenic boat (freighter) tour around the Docker Compose and Docker Swarm Islands. Apart from you trusted tour guides Florian and Andreas, the crew is accompanied by a Docker Registry, a polyglot multi-container application, and a lot of container handling hands-on exercises.

After the tour you will have an idea of how to use
- Docker Engine
- Docker Compose
- Docker Swarm

The tour is aimed at a diverse audience from green seaman to seasoned Docker captain. It will help to have a rough idea of containerization & virtualisation.

What do you need?
In order to enjoy the tour to its fullest, please come equipped with a laptop and a recent install of Docker CE (www.docker.com/community-edition).

If you have never heard of Docker, excuse the "marine theming" of the descpription, you will understand it, as soon as you see their logo ;)

Workshop: Docker Engine, Komponieren und Schwarm
Sprache: Englisch, wenn angefragt, ansonsten in Deutsch
Referenten: Florian Barth & Andreas Wenger, Stocard GmbH

Was brauchst du?
